Customer Contracts Manager, Government Solutions
Verra Mobility is a global smart mobility technology business. We partner with government agencies and road authorities to deliver road safety cameras and enforcement programs that help save lives, prevent serious injuries and make roads safer.
We are seeking a Customer Contracts Manager to lead customer contracting across our Government Solutions business.
This is a customer-facing, sell-side commercial contracts role. You will personally draft and negotiate revenue-generating agreements under which Verra Mobility provides technology and services to government customers. It is not a procurement, category management or supplier-contract administration position.
Reporting to the Director, Government Contracts, you will work closely with Legal, Bids, Sales, Finance, Technology and Delivery.
The role is based in South Melbourne, with three days in the office and two days working from home. Occasional domestic travel may be required.
What you’ll do
- Lead the contractual workstream for government RFPs, tenders and sole-source opportunities.
- Draft, redline and negotiate customer MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, variations, change orders and related agreements.
- Develop commercial positions that balance customer requirements, delivery commitments and organisational risk.
- Identify and manage risks involving liability, indemnity, intellectual property, privacy, data security, warranties and termination.
- Translate contract terms into clear obligations for operational and commercial teams.
- Manage active contracts, obligations, variations and renewals through our CLM platform.
- Develop practical templates, playbooks and standard contracting positions.
- Improve contract governance through automation, standardisation and process improvement.
- Support third-party agreements required for customer delivery when necessary.
What you’ll bring
- At least 5+ years’ customer commercial contracts experience.
- Direct experience of drafting and negotiating agreements under which your organisation supplies technology or services.
- Demonstrated experience contracting with government or public-sector customers.
- Experience supporting tenders from opportunity stage through negotiation and execution.
- Working knowledge of liability, indemnity, intellectual property, privacy, warranties and related commercial risks.
- Experience managing contracts across different jurisdictions.
- Experience using a dedicated CLM platform to manage contracts, obligations and renewals.
- Commercial understanding of pricing, invoicing and financial risk.
- The ability to provide clear, practical advice while managing multiple deadlines.
Experience based primarily on procurement, sourcing, category management or supplier contracts will not meet the requirements of this position.
A degree in business, law, commerce or a related discipline is valued. Experience supporting government or Defence customers would be advantageous.
