Position Overview:
This role is a part of the Verra Command Center team or VCC, which is responsible for remote technical support and oversight of roadside monitoring and enforcement implementations across the United States and parts of Canada. VCC is a 24-hour 7 day a week operation that works to ensure enforcement sites are up, operating, and working for our government clients. We work to provide fast and reliable troubleshooting and monitoring for all devices that fall into our scope.The Business Analyst is a vital member of the Verra Command Center (VCC) team, responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements to support the development of engineering solutions. This role ensures that automation, integrations, and platform enhancements align with business objectives and operational needs. The Business Analyst acts as the primary liaison between stakeholders and the engineering team, ensuring requirements are well understood, solutions are properly scoped, and deliverables achieve the intended outcomes. The Business Analyst contributes to improving efficiency, streamlining processes, and enabling engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that enhance roadside operations and customer satisfaction
Essential Responsibilities:
- Requirements Gathering: Partner with Operations Technicians, Supervisors, Account Managers, and Customer Service Specialists to capture and document detailed business requirements.
- Business Process Analysis: Evaluate current operational processes, identify gaps or inefficiencies, and propose improvements supported through engineering solutions.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), functional specifications, workflows, and user stories to guide engineering initiatives.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as a bridge between business teams and engineers, ensuring that project scope, priorities, and deliverables remain aligned.
- Testing & Validation: Support the creation of test plans and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to confirm that engineering solutions meet business needs.
- Project Participation: Assist in project planning and tracking, ensuring requirements are delivered on time and to specification.
- Change Management Support: Develop user guides, process documentation, and training materials to support adoption of new tools and processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend best practices for requirements gathering, solution design, and stakeholder engagement.
- Agile Participation: Contribute to stand-ups, backlog sessions, and sprint planning to align requirements with engineering development cycles.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates to management on requirement progress, business impact, and project alignment with KPIs.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Successful completion of the Nlets fingerprinting background assessment.
- Must be located in Phoenix, Arizona and will to work a hybrid model.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a related role supporting IT, engineering, or operations.
- Proven ability to gather, analyze, and document business requirements across diverse stakeholders.
- Strong familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), including writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Experience with system integrations, APIs, automation, or platform development environments preferred.
- Knowledge of SQL for data validation and reporting is preferred.
- Proficiency with documentation and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and Power BI.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, 24x7x365 operational environment.
- Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and organizational skills.
