Position Overview:

Verra Mobility seeks an ambitious and skilled communicator to help drive effective communications campaigns that advance the Government Solutions business strategy. Reporting into the Government Solutions Marketing team, you will craft compelling narratives and execute numerous initiatives that articulate our value proposition and advocate for, educate about, and drive the adoption of our solutions within government agencies and transportation organizations. This person will support a range of strategic communications initiatives from client programs, public awareness campaigns, thought leadership articles, community and advocacy engagement programs, and proof of performance. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic communicator with a talent for research, curiosity and creating impactful content and a knack for staying organized.

Responsibilities

  • Writes, edits, and proofreads various written and electronic materials for the company using AP Style, and on behalf of its clients, including researching market material statistics and fact-checking company and government collateral to ensure quality and correctness.
  • Participates and manages a variety of special projects and communications initiatives including public awareness campaigns that drive messaging and support business objectives using partner organizations.
  • Supports company public and media relations functions within the business unit to include, but not limited to, copyrighting, content development, and other strategic communications efforts.
  • Aids government clients in creating public affairs campaign materials for community education efforts and initiatives to include press releases, web content and social media posts
  • Draws from policy, technical, or legislative material and is able to condense the main points into written content that is appropriate for general distribution.
  • Maintains relationships with key clients to generate and manage ongoing communications opportunities. This role will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients to include city officials and staff.
  • Serves as a primary, day-to-day client contact for various North American programs and provides strong client counsel on communications matters and materials linked to strategic plans.
  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously, on time, and with the ability to prioritize project deliverables according to deadlines and department objectives.
  • Compiles and maintains customer testimonials and collateral repository. 
  • Identifies, writes, and delivers case study references and customer story content.
  • Partners with the marketing team to shape opportunities for speaking sessions and awards submission at global industry events.

Qualifications

  • A degree in communications, English, journalism, or a similar area of study is preferred.
  • five years of experience in a comparable position. Proven oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver strategic account plans aligned with customer and organizational objectives.
  • Experience managing client communications or public information communication strategies is a plus.
  • Project management and keen organizational skills are necessary to process multiple clients and deliverables simultaneously.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite to create communication collateral – InDesign, Photoshop & Premier Pro – is a bonus!
